The under 9s Tigers got off to a flyer by beating the recent Lammack mini tournament winners Langho Juniors 2-1 at Wilsons on Saturday morning. A good solid team performance hi-lighted by an outstanding display from team captain Jason Thompson who marshaled his defence superbly was the basis of a deserved win. Rovers' opening goal scored by Sam Barret came after some good midfield link up play and the Tigers led 1-0 at half time. Langho started the second half strongly and equalised following a rare mix up in the home defence. A succession of corners led to the unfortunate Langho defence conceding an own goal but it was no more than the Tigers deserved as they ran out worthy winners.
