MATCH REPORTS WEEK ENDING 21/09/03
 

The season kicked off with mixed fortunes for the Gt.Harwood Rovers teams,

 The Under 8s Tigers were at home to Mellor Blue, playing well with good team spirit, Kegan Nixon notched up 4 goals, Haydon Morcroft 2 and Liam Anderson 1 in a 7-2 victory.

 The Under 9s Tigers were at home to Accoutre Juniors did not play up to there usual standard, had it not been James Sagar the Tigers keeper and Accoutre missing a penalty it could have been worse, James got Man of the Match in a game that saw them lose 0-2.

 The Under 9s Panthers travelled away to Clitheroe Wolves, an excellent performance saw them kick off their season in good style beating a strong Wolves side, 5 goals from Man of the Match Jordan Knott, 1 from Chris Whittaker, Luke Badger and Matthew Freely gave them an 2-8 victory.

 The Under 9s Rovers were at home to Langho Blue J.Bunn and L.Kenyon got a goal each for Harwood both cancelled out by goals from Langho, a draw was a fair result as both teams battled hard, Man of the Match J.Bunn, Final Score 2-2. 

The Under 12s B took advantage of the slope at home to Accoutre B at Memorial with Chris Walne and James Slater getting a goal each in the first half, it was 2-0 at half time. In the second half Man of the Match James Slater got his second, and Accoutre got a late consolation goal, making the final score 3-1.

The Under 12s A took on Langho at home in a close fought game, goals from Jonathon Heap and Kieron Knott could not keep Langho from winning 2-3, with Chris Skeen getting Man of the Match.

The Under 14s B were away in the Cup to Darwen at Blacksnape, 4 goals from Adam Harbour, 3 from David Kenal, 2 from Sam Brown and 1 each from Elliot Hall and Ashley Hall saw them through to the next round, Liam Vickerstaffe picked up Man of the Match.

After a dismal start of  four defeats the Gt Harwood Rovers Senior team notched up their first points in a game that saw them leading 4-1, with goals from David Kemp 2, Steven Marsden 1 and Jonathan Williamson 1, a resiliant Clayton le moors side pulled it level to 4-4 at half time. An early goal in the second half by Steven Skirlock put Harwod 5-4 up with minutes left a great goal line clearance by Steven Marsden sealed the victory for Gt. Harwood.
