Club Secretary Andy Counsell bags the award
"Lancashire F.A. Charter Standard Administrator of the Year"

GHR to Lancashire Football Association.
Reason for Nomination:

Andy Counsell is in his fifth season as Secretary of Great Harwood Rovers FC. During his tenure he has shown total and utter dedication to the Club. As with many volunteers, he has a day job that puts food on his family’s table, but his real passion is working for the Club.

In his “hands on” role he manages the Club's off field activities for 18 teams, which allows our managers and coaches to get on with the task of providing great football for the young people of our locality. He passionately polices all of the administrative side of the Charter Standard, but walks and talks the values the Standard aims to promote.

He has been one of the major advocates of establishing and developing Girls football within what was historically a Boys football club.

In the past 2 years Andy has made an enormous personal effort to secure a 25 year lease on local playing fields for the Club. He has also been at the heart of producing plans and seeking funding for changing facilities and improved pitches.

Andy also ensures that the Club maintains a high profile amongst other  groups in our community – he has created active links with schools, the police and the area and local councils.

He would be fully deserving of a Charter Standard award.
