Saturday 5th April 2008 Clitheroe Wolves Red @ High moor 10-45 ko
 
GHR travelled to Clitheroe to take on 2nd in the table Clitheroe Wolves Red, the game kicked off with GHR kicking in to a very strong wind, the GHR defence of Craig Scales, Danny Aspinall and Tom Blackmore were outstanding but on 12 mins the ball found it's way to the CWR player who placed the ball past the keeper 1-0, GHR were playing on the counter attack and both Sam Jones and Joseph Starkie went close with long range efforts. CWR continued to to put GHR under pressure and stand in keeper Scott Sykes making a couple of good saves and Clitheroe also hitting the bar but the game reached h/t with the score CWR 1 GHR 0. The 2nd half started with GHR creating the first effort on goal with the keeper saving a James Hodson shot, on 8 mins CWR doubled there lead when the Clitheroe centre forward  was left unmarked to make the score 2-0. Just like previous weeks GHR didn't let there heads drop and 5 mins later got 1 back when a James Hodson cross found Thomas Braithwaite who smartly controlled the ball and hit a left foot shot into the bottom corner 2-1. GHR had there tails up now and went looking for an equalizer, 2 mins from time they got it when Craig Scales hit a shot that didn't look like it had enough power to trouble the goalie but it rolled though his legs and over the line to bring an end to the scoring and to make the final score Clitheroe Wolves Red 2 Great Harwood Rovers 2.

 

Saturday 22nd March 2008 Rossendale Valley @ Lyndon House 10-45 ko
 
On a very windy morning GHR took on Rossendale Valley, the game kicked off and both teams started vey brightly playing some good football in very difficult conditions, it was Rossendale who created the first chance after a good passing move the center forward shot just wide, on the 7th min GHR had there first effort on goal when Thomas Braithwaite shot staight at the keeper, GHR were stating to put Rossendale under a bit of pressure now with Joseph Starkie and Scott Sykes both having chance's to put GHR in front. On the 15th min and against the run of play it was Rossendale who got there nose's in front after a slick passing move the forward smashed it in the top corner, the ref's whistle brought the half to a close with the score GHR 0 Rosendale Valley 1. The 2nd half  and it was Rossendale who started the brighter and 5 mins in they doubled there lead when a shot which was going well wide hit the center forward in the box who diverted it in to the net 2-0. GHR started to fight back and 10 mins in to the half got back in to it when the ball fell to Sam Jones on the edge of the box who fired it in to the top of the net 1-2, GHR were pressing for an equalizer  now and were piling on the pressure, Tom Blackmore went close after a powerful run just shooting wide, 5 mins from time Joseph Starkie went surging forward beating 1 defender then rounding the keeper only to be fetched down penalty!!! up stepped captain Scott Sykes  who hit it to the keeper's right who got down to make a smart save only for the ball to rebound off him staight to Sam Jones who got his 2nd of the game, that was the end of the scoring and the game ended GHR 2 Rossendale Valley 2 which on reflection was probably a fair result.
 

Saturday 15th March 2008 Whalley @ Queen Elizabeth's playing fields ko 10-45

 
GHR took on Whalley and totally dominated the game from start to finish, GHR opened the scoring on 8 mins when a though ball found James Kenny who waltzed round a defender and the goalkeeper to put GHR 1 up. GHR continued to create chance's hitting the bar and the Whalley keeper making some excellent saves but on 15 mins Tom Blackmore scored to double there lead and make the h/t score 2-0. The 2nd half got underway and GHR got a third staight from the kick off with Tom Blackmore getting his second of the game 3-0, GHR were firing on all cylinder's now and scored 4 more quick goal's with Tom Blackmore getting 2 more too take his tally to 4. James Kenny got another and Joseph Starkie got in on the act with a cool finish from close range 7-0. There was still time for 1 more and it came from motm James Kenny who completed his hat trick which made the final score Whalley 0 GHR 8.

 

Saturday 8th March 2008 Accrington Stanley home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45
 
The game kicked off on a very heavy pitch after the over night rain, it was Accy who started the quicker and Matthew Horman in the GHR goal had to make 2 excellent saves to keep the game goal less. GHR started to fight back and create chance's of there own with James Kenny and Thomas Braithwaite both going close with shot's, on 10 mins Accy took the lead, after a shot was parried by the goalie the centre forward followed up to score 1-0. 5 mins from h/t Accy got a second after a GHR corner was cleared they broke quickly to score to make the h/t score GHR 0 Accrington Stanley 2. The 2nd half kicked off and the GHR keeper had to make another fantastic save, for the next 10 mins both teams traded  chance's in what was a very end to end game, it was GHR who got the next goal when a defender cleared the ball only for Joseph Starkie to fire  an unstoppable shot into the back of the net from 15 yards out 1-2, GHR continued to to push for an equalizer with James Kenny hitting the post but it was Accy who got a third when the centre forward was left unmarked at a corner and he coolly put the ball away 3-1. There was no more goals and the ref's whistle brought an end to a brilliant 2nd half from both teams with the final score GHR 1 Accrington Stanley 3.
 

Saturday 1st March 2008 Church home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45

 
GHR totally dominated this game from start to finish, 2 mins in and GHR take the lead with a shot from Joseph Starkie, 5 mins later GHR doubled there lead when the Church goalie let a shot from James Hodson though his legs 2-0, 5 mins on and on there first attack Church pulled 1 back 2-1. Almost staight from the restart GHR got a third when Thomas Braithwaite scored 3-1 to take the game to h/t. The 2nd half was completly one way traffic and GHR ran in 9 unanswered  goals with James Kenny getting a hat trick, Joseph Starkie getting another to take his tally to 2, Thomas Braithwaite got 4 more goals to take his tally to a fantastic 5 goals, the scoring was completed by Sam Jones in the final min to make the final score GHR 12 Church 1 with Joseph Starkie getting the motm.
 

Saturday 23rd February 2008 Darwen home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45

 
The game kicked off and the GHR boys were still asleep and with only 10 mins on the clock found themselves 3 nil down,GHR seemed to wake up and started to play some decent football for the next 10 mins had Darwen pinned in there own half creating chance after chance with the Darwen keeper had to make several outstanding save's,the h/t whistle went with the score GHR 0 Darwen 3. The 2nd half kicked off and 2 mins in  Darwen got a 4th after some sloppy defending 4-0, GHR didn't let there heads drop and got a goal when James Kenny found the back of the net with a sweet left foot shot 4-1. GHR kept pushing forward and got another goal after some good work on the left wing from James Kenny who sent over a cross for Scott Sykes to fire a left foot volley into the net 4-2, GHR continued to push forward but the Darwen keeper who was having an inspired day made 3 more good saves, with GHR pushing everyone forward it was Darwen who got  a late goal to make the final score GHR 2 Darwen 5.
 
 
Saturday 16th February 2008 Rossendale Valley away @ St Peter's Avenue
 
GHR travelled to Haslingden to take on Rossendale Valley, Rossendale started the game very brightly and had GHR on the back foot for the first 10 mins, the GHR goalie Matthew Horman made 3 fantastic save's of keep the game goalless. GHR started to find there feet and in the 14th min took the lead when a ball from Craig Scales found Thomas Braithwaite who turned brilliantly and fired the ball into the bottom corner 1-0. Both teams continued to create chance's but h/t arrived with the score Rossendale 0 GHR 1. The 2nd half got underway and 3 mins in GHR doubled there lead from a corner when Sam Jones found space brilliantly at the back post to put the ball into the net 2-0. GHR started to dominate the game now and the Rossendale keeper made 3 outstanding saves, on 10 mins GHR got a third when Joseph Starkie made a surging run and fired a shot into the bottom corner 3-0. 5 mins from time Rossendale pulled a goal back 3-1, GHR didn't let the goal put them off and continued to create chance's and 2 mins from time got a 4th when James Kenny who was left unmarked side footed the ball towards an empty net only for Joseph Starkie to cheekily run on to the ball to touch it into an empty net from a yard out to claim his 2nd of the game and to make the final score Rossendale Valley 1 GHR 4 with James Kenny getting the motm.

Saturday 9th Febuary 2008 Rishton United home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45

 
On a lovely sunny morning GHR took on local rivals Rishton in the 2nd local derby of the season, Rishton started the game better and GHR's stand in goalie Scott Sykes made 2 good saves early on, on 15 mins Rishton took the lead when the center forward scored with a shot from the edge of the box. GHR started to fight back with Joseph Starkie, James Kenny and Sam Jones all having shots saved by the Rishton keeper , Rishton came firing back forcing a succession of quick corners, just before h/t James Kenny struck a shot from outside the box that cannoned  back of the bar, the ref whistle blew for h/t with the score GHR 0 Rishton 1. GHR started the 2nd half strongly and had Rishton penned back in there own half, 5 mins in they equalized when failed to clear a corner and Thomas Braithwaite scored 1-1. Rishton came firing back again and for 10 mins had GHR defending for there lives creating a host of chance's with Tom Blackmore twice having to clear off the line, on 15 mins Rishton took the lead when the center forward got his 2nd of the game after a goal mouth scramble 2-1, to there credit the GHR lads never gave up and with the last kick of the game James Kenny poked the ball into the back of the net to make the final score GHR  2 Rishton 2 with Scott Sykes getting the motm.This was a fantastic local derby and both teams played the the game in the right spirit and put on a brilliant display for the spectators.
 

Saturday 26th January 2008 Baxenden Villa home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45

 
On a very windy morning GHR took on Baxenden, both teams started well and it was Baxenden who had the 1st chance and Matthew Horman in the GHR goal had to make a smart save to keep the game goal less, GHR went straight up the field and created a chance of there own with James Kenny firing just wide. on 8 mins Baxenden took the lead when the center forward poked the ball home 1-0, 3 mins later GHR were level when Joseph Starkie picked the ball up in his own half beat 2 Baxenden defenders and fired an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner to score a great goal 1-1. Baxenden regained the lead and right on h/t scored a 3rd when a weak shot got a deflection which left the goalie no chance and the h/t score GHR 1 Baxenden 3. Baxenden kicked off the 2nd half  and 10 mins in got a 4th, GHR never let there heads drop and got the next goal when James Kenny crossed for James Hodson to put the ball into the net 4-2. GHR threw everyone forward trying to get another but it was Baxenden who got it at the death to make the final score GHR 2 Baxenden Villa 5.

Saturday 5th January 2008 Clitheroe Wolves Blue away @ Oakhill College ko 10-45

 
GHR took on CWB on a bog for a pitch without there regular goalie and only 1 sub, Danny Aspinall volunteered 1st to go in goal and the 1st 10 mins both teams were evenly matched both creating chance's with Joseph Starkie having GHR's best chance shooting just wide, after 10 mins James Kenny took over in goal and the change in formation seemed to effect GHR and CWB scored 2 quick goals to make the score at h/t CWB 2 GHR 0.The 2nd half and another goalie Joseph Starkie taking over in goal, both teams kept creating chance's and on 10 mins CWB got a 3rd, the GHR lads didn't let there heads drop and kept battling hard but were unable to beat a good Clitheroe keeper, CWB scored 2 more goals to make the final score Clitheroe Wolves Blue 5 GHR 0.

Saturday 15th December 2007 Wilpshire Wanderers away @ Salisbury Memorial ko 10-45
 
In GHR's first game in a month they started the game very well creating a chance in the first 2 mins when a rasping drive from James Kenny was superbly tipped round the post by the Wilpshire goalie. Both teams were playing some lovely football on an excellent pitch and it was Wilpshire who took the lead on 10 mins when a shot gave the GHR goalie no chance 1 nil, both teams created more chances and on 15 mins Wilpshire doubled there lead to go 2 up. GHR didn't let there heads drop  and 2 mins from h/t whistle got a goal to get back into the game when after some lovely skill from James Kenny on the left wing who crossed the the ball for Thomas Braithwaite who found the back of the net with a sweet left foot shot, h/t score Wilpshire 2 GHR 1. The 2nd half got underway and 7 mins in GHR got an equalizer when Thomas got his 2nd of the game when his shot squeezed into the bottom corner 2-2, both teams continued to created chances and 3 mins from the end it was Wilpshire who got a winner to make the final score Wilpshire Wanderers 3 GHR 2.

Saturday 17th November 2007 Clitheroe Wolves Blue ( cup ) @ Lyndon House 10-45 ko

 
GHR put in a very disappointing performance against CWB and went out of the cup with a whimper. GHR were on the back foot straight  from the ko and it was no surprise when CWB took the lead on 10 mins, ht arrived with no more goals. The 2nd half was no different from the 1st with CWB well on top and GHR hardly creating a chance. Clitheroe scored 3 more goals to make the final score GHR 0 CWB 4.

 

Saturday 10th November 2007 Clayton Park Rangers @ All Saints School
 
CPR started the game but it was GHR who went staight on the attack with Thomas Braithwaite, Sam Jones, James Kenny and Joseph Starkie all going close. On the 10th min GHR took the lead with a good finish from Thomas Braithwaite1-0 , GHR continued to lay siege to the CPR goal with Joseph Starkie hitting the bar and firing 1 high and wide, Scott Sykes had 1 cleared off the line, on the 15th min CPR had there 1st shot and Matthew Horman in the GHR goal had to make a smart save to make the score at h/t 1-0. The 2nd half started and GHR carried on were they had left off creating plenty of chance's and 10 mins into the half they got there 2nd when the ball dropped to Scott Sykes who fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner 2-0, 5 mins from time CPR had a rare attack and the center forward fired a smart shot passed the keeper 2-1, in the last min of the game disaster struck when a weak shot from the CPR player went under the goalie's body to level the score 2-2, there was still time for 1 last chance for GHR but the goalie made a superb save from Scott Sykes, the final whistle blew and the final score was GHR 2 Clayton Park Rangers 2.

Saturday 3rd November 2007 Barrowford Celtic away @ Bullholme

 
GHR started the game very brightly and completely dominated the 1st half creating chance after chance, Thomas Braithwaite, Joseph Starkie and James kenny all had chance's to put GHR 1 up and but for the Barrowford Goalie making some good save's would have done. In the 10th min GHR  took the lead after a smart turn from Thomas Braithwaite who fired the ball into the bottom corner 1-0, Barrowford's defense was all over the place now and it was no surprise when GHR doubled there lead on 15 mins when Joseph Starkie rifled a shot from the edge of the box to give the goalie no chance to put GHR 2-0 up at h/t. The 2nd half started in much the same vein with Sam Jones going close with a couple of shots and Joseph Starkie clearing the bar when he should have done better. 7 mins into the half and totally against the run of play Barrowford scored when the center forward was left unmarked  and he had an easy finish from 5 yards out 2-1, the goal lifted barrowford and 5 mins later  they got an equaliser when a cross sliced off the GHR defender and flew into the net 2-2.  The GHR lads didn't let it deter them and had futher chance's to win it, the best falling to Joseph Starkie who saw the goalie make an out standing save to deny him. in the last min Barrowford got a free kick which was harsh on the GHR defender who won the ball clearly but from the free kick Matthew Horman in the GHR goal made a fantastic save tipping the ball on to the post and Tom Blackmore cleared the danger to make the final score GHR 2 Barrowford Celtic 2.
 
Saturday 27th October 2007 Rishton United away @ St Charles School 10-45ko
 
In the 1st big derby of the season GHR travelled over the border to take on high flying Rishton, GHR kicked off but it was Rishton who started the better creating 2 quick chance's which the center forward hit wide, for the 1st 10 mins Rishton were camped in the GHR half and Scott Sykes and Tom Blackmore in the GHR defense had to be at there best to keep the game goal less, GHR started to fight back and in the 12th min Joseph Starkie had a shot saved by the Rishton goalie, the game was much more even now and in the 15th min GHR took the lead when Thomas Braithwaite found an unmarked James Kenny who cooly slotted the ball passed the advancing Rishton goalie to make the h/t score GHR 1 Rishton 0. GHR started the 2nd well and the Rishton goalie had to make 2 smart saves to keep Rishton in it, the game was end to end now and in the 10th min of the half with Rishton on the attack the Rishton center forward slipped in the box and to everyone's amazement the referee awarded Rishton a penalty which they scored to make the score 1-1, both teams continued to look for a winner and it was Rishton who got it after a scamble the Rishton striker got a foot to the ball to poke it in to put Rishton 2-1 up, GHR battled hard to get an equaliser but in the end the  poor refereeing decision cost GHR a draw they deserved, the final score was GHR 1 Rishton 2 with Tom Blackmore getting motm.
 
Saturday 20th October 2007 Whalley ( cup ) away @ Whalley school 10-45 ko
 
The game kicked off on a lovely sunny morning and 5 mins into the game GHR took the lead when a Tom Blackmore shot gave the goalkeeper no chance 1-0, GHR were well on top and doubled there lead on 10 mins when Joseph Starkie got on the end of a James Hodson cross 2-0, GHR weren't finished there and just before h/t got a third after some lovely passing the ball reached Tom Blackmore who fired the into the bottom corner for is 2nd goal of the game 3-0. The 2nd half got under way and GHR carried on were they had left off and but for some way wood shooting would have scored more, 10 mins from time Whalley had there 1st shot on goal which the goalie fumbled and the Whalley forward followed up to score 3-1, with 5 mins left Scott Sykes went on a powerful run which resulted in him being fouled just outside the box,from the resulting free kick he curled the ball round the wall David Beckham style into the top corner to make the final score GHR 4 Whalley 1, Scott Sykes was named the motm.

Saturday 13th October 2007 Accrington Stanley away @ witton Park 10-45 ko

 
GHR kicked off against league leaders Accrington Stanley who had played 9 and won 9, both teams started very well playing some lovely football and it was GHR who created the first chance when the Accrington keeper had to make a smart save to tip a Joseph Starkie shot round the post, from the resulting corner Accrington cleared the ball up the pitch for the striker who fired a shot in to the bottom corner to go 1-0 up, Accrington were getting on top and the GHR keeper ( Matthew Horman ) and defenders ( Scott Sykes and Craig Scales ) had to be at there best to keep the score at h/t GHR 0 Accrington 1. The 2nd half got underway and 5 mins into the half Accrington got a 2nd, unlike the previous week the GHR lads didn't let there heads drop and took the game to Accrington and with 10 mins left got back in the game when a Thomas Braithwaite shot reboundedback off the keeper and after a bit of a scramble James Kenny poked the ball in to the net to make the score GHR 1 Accrington 2,GHR were going all out for an equaliser now and got it when the ball broke to James Kenny who fired a 20 yard shot in to the net to level the score 2-2, GHR continued to press for a winner and but for a last ditch tackle on Joseph Starkie would have took the lead, the referee's whistle brought an end to a fantastic 2nd half for the GHR boys with the final score GHR 2 Accrington Stanley 2.
 

Saturday 6th October 2007 Barrowford Celtic home @ Lydon House 10-45 ko

 
The game kicked off and GHR started the game very brightly playing some lovely football and for the first 10 mins of the half were camped inside the Barrowford half with Thomas Braithwaite and Joseph Starkie both going close to opening the score, GHR got the goal there play deserved when a though ball from Scott Sykes up to Thomas Braithwaite who laid the ball off beautifully for Sam Jones who smashed the ball in to the top corner to put GHR 1-0 up. Barrowford started to up there game and started to put the Ghr defence under pressure and just before h/t got a goal to level the scores at h/t 1-1. The 2nd half started  and staight away went in front 2-1, for the remainder of the game and for some unknown reason the GHR lads let there heads drop and started bickering between each other, Barrowford got 2 more goals to make the final score GHR 1 Barrowford 4 but the GHR boys need to learn not to let there heads drop and to stick together as a team.
 
Saturday 29th September 2007 Baxenden Villa away @ Foxhill Bank ko 10-45am
 
GHR kicked off on a pitch that sheep would be more at home on due to council not cutting it,there was not many chance's in the 1st half but it was Baxenden who had the 1st with Matthew Horman in the GHR goalsmaking a great save from a shot , GHR soon created a chance when Sam Jones hit the post and from the follow up cross Thomas Braithwaite just couldn't get enough on the ball and the ball trickled wide from the shot, there was no other chance's in the 1st half with both defence's well on top. The 2nd half was a much more open game and 5 mins into the half GHR took the lead after some good work from Joseph Starkie who crossed the ball from the left for Thomas Braithwaite who found the back of the net with a left foot shot 1-0, Baxenden restarted the game and went staight on the attack and the GHR keeper had to be on his toes to push a shot smartly round the post, Baxenden were getting on top and they got the equaliser when the center forward nipped in front of the goalie and squeezzed the ball in 1-1,GHR started to panic  a bit and Baxenden had GHR on the back foot and the GHR keeper made 4 fantastic save's to keep GHR in the game, GHR regained there composure and 5 mins from the end the ball fell to Joseph Starkie on the edge of the area who fired a shot into the top of the net to put GHR 2-1 up, the last 5 mins so both sides having chance's with Sam Jones having a long range effort that just cleared the bar and Baxenden firing wide with the last kick of the game for the game to finish GHR 2 Baxenden Villa 1, the motm was the whole team who having no subs all had to put 110% effort in, well done boys.
 

Saturday 22nd September 2007 Whalley Juniors home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45am

 
The game got underway on a lovely sunny morning and 2 mins into the game it was GHR who took the lead with a well worked goal from Joseph Starkie, GHR continued to throw everything at Whalley with Joseph Starkie hitting the bar twice and the goalkeeper making some good save's, on the 12th minGHR got the 2nd there play deserved when Scott Sykes scored with a fantastic shot that flew in to the top corner, in the 15th min GHR got a penalty when Joseph Starkie was up ended in the box and SCott Sykes stepped up to take it and fired it staight down the middle but the goalie stood his ground and made a good save only for the ball to bounce off him and land at James Kenny's feet who put it in for GHR to go 3 nil up, Scott Sykes didn't let the penalty deter him and on the 17th min scored the goal of the game when he took the ball from a goal kick beat 2 men and unleashed an unstoppable shot that flew into the top corner to make the score at h/t GHR 4 Whalley 0. GHR got the 2nd half underway and carried on were they had left off laying siege to the Whalley goal and in the 3rd min of the half Joseph Starkie got is 2nd with a smart finish from the edge of the box, GHR looked like scoring from every attack and in the 6th and 8th min Thomas Braithwaite got in on the act scoring 2 quick goals to make the score 7-0,GHR refused to take there foot of the gas and Tom Blackmore scored to make the score 8,the last 5 mins of the game saw GHR score another 2 goals with Sam Jones getting both the 2nd coming from a lovely turn and shot. To there credit Whalley never let there heads drop and battled to the final whistle, the ref brought the game to an end with the final score being GHR 10 Whalley Juniors 0 with Scott Sykes getting the motm.
 

Saturday 15th September 2007 Clitheroe Wolves Blue home @ Lyndon House ko 10-45am

 
The game kicked off and it was Clitheroe who went staight on the attack and the GHR keeper ( Matthew Horman ) had to make several out standing save's to keep GHR in the game, GHR gradually started to fight back and Scott Sykes hit the post with a rasping drive and Tom Blackmore heading over from a corner, but it was Clitheroe who took the lead when a mis hit shot fell staight at the forwards feet who poked the ball in the bottom corner to go in at h/t 1 nil up. The 2nd half was much more even and both team's created chance's with Clitheroe's number 10 causing all sorts of for the GHR defence, GHR had a great chance to equalise when Joseph Starkie was though on goal but he couldn't get his shot away and the danger was cleared, Clitheroe then got a 2nd when the dangerous number 10 scored with the very last kick of the game to make the final score GHR 0 Clitheroe Wolves Blue 2.  Thanks go to the referee ( Peter Ramsbottom ) who stood in at the last minute when the original ref failed to turn up.
 

Wednesday 12th September 2007 Huncoat United home @ Lyndon House ko 6-00pm

 
Huncoat got the game underway and for the first 10 mins were camped in the GHR half but through some good goalkeeping and poor finishing couldn't make the pressure count, GHR gradually started to get back into the game and had Huncoat on the back foot for the remained of the half but the whistle went for h/t with the score 0-0, the 2nd half started just has the 1st half finished with GHR well on top but unable to take there chance's and GHR paid for this when Huncoat took the lead from a weak shot that managed to squirm under the goalkeeper's body, Huncoat then got a 2nd when the goalkeeper was ajudged to have handled outside the box  and from the resulting free kick an Huncoat striker was left unmarked at the back post for an easy tap in 2-0, the GHR lads then let there heads drop a bit and Huncoat got a third to make the final score GHR 0 Huncoat United 3.
 

Monday 10th September 2007 Darwen FC away @ Witton Park ko 6-00pm

 
GHR travelled to Blackburn to take on 1 of the leagues new side's Darwen fc, Darwen got the game underway and boths sides traded chance's until the 15th minute after some good work from James Kenny who set up Joseph Starkie who fired the ball into the bottom corner to go 1 nil up, almost staight from the restart Darwen scored 2 goals in 2 minute's to make the score at h/t Darwen 2 GHR 1. The 2nd half kicked off and GHR went looking for the eqauliser and got it with a sweet left foot shot from just inside the area for his 2nd goal of the game from Joseph Starkie to level the score 2-2, both teams continued to create chance's looking for a winner and 8 mins from time Darwen got a third to take the lead 3-2, GHR threw everyone forward in search of an equaliser but it was Darwen who scored 2 very late goals to make the final score GHR 2 Darwen fc 5.

Saturday 8th September 2007 Wilpshire Wanderers Home Lyndon House 10-45 ko

 
GHR kicked off there 4th game in a week and it showed as there performance was there worse for a long time, they never got going in the 1st half and deservedly went behind midway through the half to trail at h/t 1 nil. The 2nd half was much improved and GHR pushed for an equaliser hitting the post and the Wilpshire goalie making a couple of fine saves but unfortunately were unable to get it and went down to there 1st defeat of the season, Final Score GHR 0 Wilpshire Wanderers 1.
 
Wednesday 5th September 2007 Clitheroe Wolves Red Home Lyndon House 6-00 ko
 
GHR and Clitheroe Wolves put on a great show for the spectators in an exciting end to end game, it was Clitheroe who went on the attack first and put GHR under pressure from the ko with the GHR keeper Matthew Horman  making a couple of fine saves, GHR got into there stride and tested the Clitheroe keeper with a couple of good shots, Clitheroe then took the lead from a corner with a fine  header at the back post and held on to the lead to go in at h/t 1-0 up. GHR kicked off the 2nd half and went straight on the offensive creating chance after chance but were unable to take them though a mixture of poor finishing and some great saves from the keeper, GHR then got the break they needed when the ball broke to Joseph Starkie on the edge of the box who lashed the ball into the top corner, both teams continued to push for a winner both hitting the woodwork  but the referee's whistle brought an end to a very entertaining game. Final score GHR 1 Clitheroe Wolves Red 1.

Monday 3rd September 2007 Church fc away Memorial Park 6-45 ko

 
GHR started brightly and went straight on the attack with the Church goalie making a fine save from a Sam Jones shot, GHR kept up the pressure and it finally paid off when James Kenny finished off a fine move with a cool finish at the back post to go in at h/t 1 nil up. The 2nd half got under way in much the same vein with Tom Blackmore hitting the post then against the run of play Church equalised with there 1st shot of the game to make the score 1-1, to there credit the GHR boys didn't let it deter them and they went back in front when Scott Sykes scored with a smart turn and shot with the ball ending up in the bottom corner, GHR continued to attack and motm James Kenny who the Church defence couldn't cope with all game put the ball on a plate for Sam Jones who put the result out of doubt to make the final score GHR 3 Church FC 1.

Saturday 1st September 2007 Lyndon House 10-45 ko

 
GHR ran out comfortable winners in there first game of the new season against Clayton Park Rangers running in 8 unanswered goals, the goals were scored by Tom Blackmore who scored a fantastic 5 goals with the pick of them being a bullet header at the back post, Scott Sykes who scored with a sweetly struck free kick from 20 yards that rifled in the top corner, Thomas Braithwaite who opened the scoring with a good finish from a good passing move and 1 from James Hodson who capitalised on a mistake from the keeper. Credit must go to the lads from Clayton who never let there heads drop and battled hard to the final whistle. The final score was GHR 8 Clayton Park Rangers 0, ref's man of the man went to Tom Blackmore.
