The Taverners were up in the cold at Haslingden against Commercial Old Boys, two quick goals in the first half saw the Taverners lose 2-0 despite a valiant performance by the ten man team, Goal keeper and man of the match Jonathan Rushton pulled off some grear saves to the score down. An excellent game of football by both teams in extreme weather conditions.

The senior team The Taverners played the Dog Inn, in a game of two halves, in the first half Chris Hindle scored a 25 yard scorcher to make it 1-0, but despite numerous chances the Taverners failed to capitilise on the score line. The Senior team The Taverners did not start the season off very well against the Dog and Otter, a cautious start saw them concede a sloppy goal early on, they were soon 2- 0 down, just before half time Nick Ford pulled back a goal from the penalty spot, this was only to be a consolation goal as The Dog and Otter played some good football and ran out deserved winners at 1-5. Matthew Riddell was man of the match.
