Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rishton Utd  

Great Harwood under 9s finished their league season with another defeat. Rishton thoroughly deserved to win the match and caused GHR most of the problems. GHR never really got out of first gear in the first half as the teams went in at 0-0. GHR started the second half much the same and poor defending let Rishton score directly from a corner kick. Rishton doubled their lead with some more poor defending when the defence let the ball trickle over the line. Kyle Parker scored GHR consolation. Man of The Match Sam Allen

Accrington Stanley Blue v Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s 

The under 9s went down to their second consecutive defeat to league leaders Accrington Stanley Blue. GHR stormed into a 2-0 lead with goals from G Ramsbottom and Kyle Bentham in the first half then Accrington pulled one back just before half time when the referee missed ASB taking a quick corner from nearer the half way line than the corner flag. Half time 2-1. Stanley piled on the pressure in the second half and only some stout defending by GHR held them off. Then with only a few minutes remaining a good individual goal from the Stanley centre half brought the game level. After all their hard work and effort some shabby defending led to the winning goal when the ball was allowed to roll through to an unmarked player for ASB to claim the win. Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Wilpshire Wanderers 

Great Harwood crashed to defeat against Wilpshire Wanderers on a very blustery winters morning. A very tight well contested match were GHR fell to defeat in the second half of the match. In the first half GHR created the better chances and should have been leading by a couple at half time, but due to poor finishing and good goalkeeping Wilpshire kept themselves in the game. In the second half Wilpshire created most of the chances and GHR man of the match goalkeeper Matthew Bunn kept them at bay. With five minutes left Wilpshire scored from a corner when GHR failed to clear the ball away from the area. Wilpshire then scored a very good goal to complete the scoring winning the game 2-0. Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rossendale Valley Reds 

Great Harwood carried on there good start to the season with a well deserved 5-1 victory. A game played in very heavy conditions that the players in the first half found hard to contend with. In the first half GHR had all the pressure and Oliver Cruse scored early in the match to make it 1-0 at half time. The second half continued in much the same vain as the first GHR had all the possession and at last started to finish some of their efforts on goal. Oliver Cruse grabbed a second and then Kyle Parker scored to make it 3-0. Rossendale hit back with a breakaway goal only to see G Ramsbottom score direct from a free kick and for Oliver Cruse to round off his hatrick and his scoring. Man of The Match Kyle Bentham.

Accrington Stanley Red v Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s 

The under 9s won a hard fought contest 1-0. GHR scored at the end of the first half with a well finished goal from Sam Allen. A half where GHR hit the post four times and the bar twice. GHR created most of the opportunities without making the most of them and the score remained 1-0 at fulltime. Man of The Match. Dominic Shephard. Final Score Accrington Stanley Red 0 GHR 1

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rossendale Valley Blue

Great Harwood played well considering the conditions to record an 11-0 victory. In the first half GHR had all the pressure and scored 4 with no reply from Rossendale. Rossendale battled hard under terrible conditions at the beginning of the second half and forced GHR keeper into two very good saves. GHR then upped their game to win convincingly 11-0. The goals came from Michael Pepper, Kyle Parker, Kyle Bentham, George Ramsbottom 5 and Man of The match Oliver Cruse with 3.

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rishton United

Great Harwood won 3-1 in the cup on Saturday against local rivals Rishton United. A very tightly fought contest was decided in the first half due to Gt Harwoods passing and movement. Man of The Match G Ramsbottom scored first and then a very well worked second goal were GHR passed the ball well, Oliver Cruse picked out Michael Pepper who finished in style at the far post. GHR scored a third through G Ramsbottom direct from a corner. Rishton fought hard and had some good chances but GHR keeper Matty Bunn kept them at bay until the dying minutes when Rishton scored a consolation goal. Final Score: Great Harwood Rovers 3 v Rishton United 1.

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Accrington Stanley Blue

The under 9s were beaten for the third time of the season by League leaders Accrington Stanley Blue under 9s. Accrington Stanley scored in the first minute of the match when hesitation from the GHR keeper gifted Stanley their opener. GHR reacted well and Oliver Cruse scored to level the game up and then again to put GHR in the lead at 2-1 at the end of the first half. GHR again gifted Accrington Stanley three more goals in the second half with sloppy mistakes. GHR created most of the opportunities without making the most of them, hitting the post on a couple of occasions and the Stanley keeper making good saves to deny GHR any way back into the game. The result flattered Stanley on the day and was not a true reflection of the game overall.  Man of The Match Michael Pepper. Final Score GHR 2 Accrington Stanley Blue 4

 Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Clitheroe Wolves Blue

The under 9s fought hard against Clitheroe Wolves Blue and scored a well deserved 5-0 victory. A tightly fought first half were both teams had chances to go in front finished at 0-0. In the second half GHR scored with a neat finish from leading scorer Oliver Cruse. They say goals change games well this one did. Neat work down the right from Kyle Bentham led to the second when George Ramsbottom scored to make it 2-0. Oliver Cruse made it three with his second of the match then George Ramsbottom scored direct from a corner and then from a free kick to complete the teams scoring and his hatrick. M.O.M. Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Wilpshire Wanderers

 Great Harwood crashed to their second defeat of the season on Saturday against Wilpshire Wanderers. A game GHR never really got to grips with the physical presence of the Wilpshire lads. GHR were leading 1-0 at half time with a goal from Oliver Cruse. GHR always looked second best throughout the match and in all honesty did not deserve to be 1 up at half time. Wilpshire piled relentless pressure on GHR goals and but for the MOM Matthew Bunn the score could have been far more than 3-1.

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Accrington Stanley Red

The under 9s carried on their good form with a well deserved 3-0 victory. GHR scored midway through the first half with an excellent and very cool finish from George Ramsbottom. GHR created most of the opportunities without making the most of them and the score was 1-0 at halftime. In the second half GHR were on the back foot and nearly paid the price for missing their chances in the first half. Kyle Parker again scored from a corner kick with a high looping header into the top corner. GHR could now relax a bit more and it showed with the team eventually gaining the upper hand and Oliver Cruse finishing another very good move off with a cool finish. Man of The Match Sam Allen. Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Clitheroe Wolves Red

 The under 9s recovered from their shock defeat last week with a well deserved 3-1 victory. GHR scored midway through the first half after near relentless pressure on Clitheroes goal through George Ramsbottom. GHR defence fell asleep and allowed Clitheroe to equalise. Just short of the break Kyle Parker scored with a header from a corner to put GHR back in the lead. In the second half GHR carried on were they left off and after soaking some early pressure up they caught Clitheroe on the counter attack when G Ramsbottom scored his second and Rovers third, after good work from Man of The Match Oliver Cruse.  Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rishton United A

 Great Harwood crashed to their first defeat of the season on Saturday against local rivals Rishton United. A very tightly fought contest was decided in the first half due to Gt Harwoods inability to deal with Rishtons set plays. GHR started the game slowly and never recovered, conceding two goals from corners and a third from a dubiously awarded free kick. Kyle Parker scored for GHR which left the score at 3-1 in the first half. GHR came to life in the second half with Man of The Match G Ramsbottom pushing his team on. Oliver Cruse scored to make it 3-2 but Rishton defended well to retain the lead under increasing GHR pressure. Final Score Rishton United 3 Great Harwood Rovers 2.

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Church Juniors

The under 9s carried on there good start to the season with a well deserved 9-0 victory. GHR cruised to victory with three goals in the first half. A half were they also hit the woodwork on several occassions. The team stepped up the pressure in the second half with the final score being 9-0. The goals were scored by Michael Pepper 2, Kyle Parker 2, Kyle Bentham 2, George Ramsbottom 1 and Man of The Match Oliver Cruse 2.

Great Harwood Rovers Under 9s v Rossendale Valley Blue

Great Harwood started the season off well with a well deserved 7-2 victory. In the first half GHR had all the pressure and scored early in the match. Rossendale hit back with two breakaway goals to lead at half time 2-1. Michael Pepper and Joss Boothman came on in the second half and made an immediate impact. Again GHR had all the possession and at last started to finish some of their efforts on goal. Oliver Cruse and Man of The Match George Ramsbottom helped themselves to hatricks and Kyle Parker scored the seventh. A good start to the season for the lads.
